Parents/Guardians:
Students will be provided with daily planners. This is where they will write down homework assignments. Your child should not be spending more than 45-60 minutes on homework a night. Homework items will include Everyday Math Study Links, reflection journals, reviewing things learned in class/any work not completed in class, pleasure reading, and talking about the school day with family. If your child is spending more than this time on homework, have them STOP, and write me a little note on the assignment. If it happens repeatedly, we can meet to find a way to fix it!
Students will also be given a Wednesday folder. Please ask to see the folder, and send it back to school on Thursday. I will be collecting returned folders on Thursday and keeping them until the following week.
I have asked students to have a 'Homework Folder.' I will collect this folder every day. It will contain returned assignments, reminders for upcoming events, and letter homes. If you write me a note, please put it in the Homework Folder because these are the folders I will see everyday. Also, if you send your child with lunch money, please put it in envelope or ziplock baggie labeled with a name and amount.
Please contact me anytime:
Through communication, I am confident that we can make this a very successful school year for your child!
Email is the easiest way to reach me. My email is [email protected]. I check my email in the evenings from home, so please do not hesitate to contact me if an issue arises. If you would like to call, I will be at school by 8:15am each day and will leave by 4:00 pm. The number is 207-345-6471.
